Banburyshire Info: The Rainbow Venue celebration event

1 August 2010

On the 30th July over 150 people joined Tony Baldry MP and the Mayor Colin Clarke to Celebrate the Rainbow Venue’s 2nd anniversary of work within the community.

All three floors of 3-4 George Street, Banbury, were filled with exhibitions, demonstrations and art which showcased the talented work of 80 plus local artisans who are members of the Venue.

The Rainbow Venue, which stands for Raising Arts in Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & Warwickshire provides a unique opportunity to explore the wonderful mixed media delights from a diverse community with an age range from 15 to 97. This makes it an essential place to visit for today’s ever increasing patrons of the Arts who are looking to invest in original pieces for their collections.

As well as being a retail space The Venue also provides, workshops which open the world of creativity up to the whole community allowing everyone to practice, play and develop their skills. There is a warm atmosphere and an open welcome to all ages and abilities.

Having toured the building, listened to Sarah’s Soft Jazz Band and absorbed the positive ambience of the gathered community Tony Baldry said.

“The Rainbow Venue is a wonderful resource. Places where people can meet, make friends, learn new skills and develop existing skills – and find contentment.”
